Annual campaign

The primary goal of the Annual Campaign is to encourage a pattern of consistent support from alumni and friends of BPCC. Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Campaign are used for the College's areas of greatest need and opportunity. Areas benefiting from the fund include scholarships, teaching equipment and aids, library services, student services, faculty and staff development, and funding for development efforts to garner more support for the College.

scholarships

There are several ways to support student scholarships through the BPCC Foundation.

annual scholarships

One-time scholarship awards may be given to the general scholarship fund. Gifts to this fund may be of any amount and are awarded at the discretion of the Foundation. The minimum scholarship award is $500.

Endowed Scholarships

A donor may establish an endowed scholarship in a specified name with an initial minimum gift (or combination of gifts) of $10,000. The endowment will remain untouched for one year after it is established to allow for growth of the fund. The corpus of the endowed account is defined as that amount originally endowed by the donor plus any future endowed amounts contributed to the fund by the donor.

A donor may fund the scholarship award separately with an additional gift until the endowed fund has grown sufficiently to make the stipulated awards.

The donor, with the assistance of the Department of Institutional Advancement, shall establish criteria for the scholarship. Donors are encouraged to keep the criteria for awards as broad as possible to assure that the scholarship can be awarded. The donor may stipulate that one or more awards of at least $500 will be made each semester or annually.

At the donor’s request, all the private contributions raised for an endowed scholarship may be submitted for matching funds through the Louisiana Board of Regents Support Fund (BoRSF). The BoRSF will match private, non-state funds with Support Fund dollars establishing a principal corpus, in amounts set forth by the Board of Regents. The corpus of the fund is invested through the BPCC Foundation, and scholarships are awarded based off the return on investment after the first year. The endowment is a financial asset for the BPCC Foundation that provides ongoing benefits to BPCC students. For more information on the BoRSF, please visit:

PROFESSORSHIPS

A donor may establish an endowed professorship in a specified name with an initial minimum gift (or combination of gifts) of $60,000 which the BPCC Foundation will use to apply for matching funds through the Louisiana Board of Regents Support Fund (BoRSF). The endowment will remain untouched for one year after it is established to allow for growth of the fund. The corpus of the endowed account is defined as that amount originally endowed by the donor plus any future endowed amounts contributed to the fund by the donor.

The BoRSF will match private, non-state funds with Support Fund dollars establishing a principal corpus. The corpus of the fund is invested through the BPCC Foundation, and stipends are awarded to qualifying professors based off the return on investment after the first year. The endowment is a financial asset for the BPCC Foundation that provides ongoing benefits to BPCC faculty. For more information on the BoRSF, please visit:
